Although design trends change each year, the modern style is here to stay for the foreseeable future. It features clean lines and an uncluttered and simple look in the facade. However, it also needs to be functional and easy to maintain. This gorgeous residence in Chennai, designed by D Domain Architects, is a superb example of modern design for a house’s exterior facade. The Architects have been very thorough in creating a design that exemplifies the client’s brief for a modern home. Let’s take a closer look at the exterior of this gorgeous Chennai home to see all the elements of its modern, eye-catching design.

The first impression

The first glimpse of the home is nothing less than awe-inspiring. The straight lines and box-like design is not something we see often, and it is quite refreshing. The proportions have been maintained seamlessly in the exterior, giving the home a very balanced look. The use of white on the exterior walls adds a unique effect, making the entire house, including the car park, appear as a single unit. It is a stroke of genius by the architects.

As we can see here, the house has two levels: the ground floor and the first floor. Both the levels are designed to be open in the front, but the sides have no visible ventilation or any other design feature that creates a break in the walls. The simplicity is what we love the most about this home’s exterior facade. On the upper level, a balcony is visible, but what catches the eye is the laser cut panel, with a floral design, placed on the side. It invites natural light into the interiors while adding a unique design element to the façade. The design is subtle but has a beautiful effect on the front elevation design of this house.

Bird’s eye view

This view gives us a better picture of the front of this house. The street is just a few steps away from the main door, and the house has an all-weather design that keeps the entryway covered. The garage is not visible when viewed from above since it has been integrated into the design to look like one seamless space. When we look closely, we see that a set of steps lead up to the main door, which is made of gorgeous wood interspersed with white laminate to give it a modern, sophisticated look.

Lastly, we end with a look at the terrace of the house. The top elevation view gives us a better idea of how complicated the design is. Although it seems quite simple from the front, this view shows us that the designers have put in a lot of time and effort to create a home that works for the client. It is a perfect example of how a professional works according to the client’s brief, to include all the required elements, including the number of rooms, balconies, car park and other areas, to design a house that is comfortable and functional, even beyond the beauty of its exterior facade.
