It's been another busy week at homify HQ, and boy have we had a bumper crop of articles to share with you. Radical makeovers, Singaporean sensations, and relaxing bamboo gardens – all of these and much more have been inspiring you over the past seven days.

But which homes and ideas stood head and shoulders above the rest? More importantly, which are the ones you want to see again? The wait is over. It's time to reveal this week's top five articles – chosen by YOU! Let's see what made it to number 1…

A Perfect Modish House

Your top pick this week? This gorgeous modern house in Yokohama City! Modest, yet still cutting edge, the construction of this angular home cost just over RM606,000 – not bad for a newly built family abode.

What really stands out about this Japanese home are the windows. Crammed into a small suburban plot, the architects knew that it would be a struggle to build a home with lots of natural light. Their solution was genius – they made sure that every single window faces east to greet the rising sun in the morning, allowing sunlight to flood the rooms throughout the day.

Intrigued? Check out the airy, minimal interior!

A Contemporary Mediterranean Home

This gorgeous minimal home breaks from the traditional Mediterranean mould of stucco and terracotta, opting instead for clean, crisp lines and a creamy exterior. Designed by Pierre Bernand, an architect based in Lyon, the one storey detached home is built on a modest plot and surrounded by lots of verdant trees and shrubs.

Humble yet homely, the house is big enough for a small family to live comfortably within. The highlight of the house has to be the cool, grey kitchen. A contrast of concrete and glossy cabinets, the sleek, modern take on Bauhaus interior design has to be seen to be believed!

Shabby Chic Sensations

You loved this list of the best shabby chic homes from across the world – it's a trend that just keeps on giving. The style has been in vogue for a fair few years now and has undergone various progressions. From rustic to retro to boho to minimal, there's a shabby chic vibe to suit everyone's tastes.

We especially loved the small, sheltered living room niche with the billowing sheer drapes in picture two, and of course we cannot forget the spacious farmhouse kitchen with the rustic wooden beams in picture five. Choose your favourite from this list of nine shabby chic solutions that will make you fall in love!

The Singapore Scandi Home

This living room looked dark, but you were still intrigued. Why? Because this small but substantial apartment by Designer House showed us just how classy Malaysian apartments can be. Based in neighbouring Singapore, this home draws influence from Scandinavian interiors, fusing these elements with a cool neutral colour palette and subtle Asian accents.

Though the windows are shrouded in darkness – sheer drapes, dark blinds and blackout curtains prevent outsiders from peeking in – once the covers are pulled back, this home is bathed in sunlight. Don't believe us? See for yourself!
